The charter of the Advertising Club of Maine was signed on July 23, 1923 at the Congress Square Hotel in downtown Portland, making it one of the nation’s original professional organizations for advertising executives. The club has been led by many of Maine’s most creative and talented professionals whose leadership has delivered opportunities to connect, enrich, educate, and celebrate the diverse creative community in Maine.
Michelle LeBlanc is a social media and content marketing evangelist with ten years of experience in the field. Over the course of her career, she has led projects for both local businesses and fortune 500 brands like Con-way Inc., Procter & Gamble’s SK-II and American Express Global Business Travel. When she isn’t working on projects for The Ad Club of Maine she can be found at Industrium’s Portland offices or tweeting at @leblancly.
Colleen leads Account Strategy and Client Relations at GarrandPartners, a creative marketing agency, in Portland. She holds a communications degree from DePaul University in Chicago and is a proud graduate of Oscar Mayer’s “Hot Dog High” and McDonald’s “Hamburger University.”
Nicole Barna is a marketing and media professional with 15 years of progressive work experience including participation on the leadership team of an award-‐winning, national, experiential marketing and media agency where she led projects for Fortune 500 clients. She proudly serves as the treasurer of The Ad Club and enjoys leading the advertising team at Portland Magazine. When she’s not focused on professional development, you can find her hiking the White Mountains or sailing around Casco Bay.
Gwen works for Spectrum Reach, formally Time Warner Cable Media, as an Account Executive. For the past 12 years she has developed strong relationships with many local businesses in Maine and New England by creating effective television and digital advertising campaigns for them. She lives in Cumberland with her two young children and enjoys golfing, camping and hanging out on the lake.
Dan’s 38+ years of advertising agency experience includes art direction, design, copywriting and creative direction. An Illustration degree from Parsons School of Design helped land him his first job in a Madison Avenue Ad agency. Over the years, Dan has worked on countless household name brands from New York to Portland Maine. Dan has been on the Board of the Ad Club of Maine since 2001, and served as President three times over the fifteen years.
Ethan is currently in charge of Club Membership, and he does have a very particular set of skills. Skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like you. If you join the Ad Club now that’ll be the end of it. He will not look for you, he will not pursue you, but if you don’t, he will look for you, he will find you and he will buy you a coffee.
Jeff has been working for Vreeland Marketing & Design for over 12 years. He is the Director of Technology and develops creative and professional projects consisting of web design and development, media production on TV/Radio and technical support for all clients. Making him an all around computer guy.
Chris works as a video producer at p3 in Portland and loves when work takes him out of the country on an adventure. Native to the Portland area, Chris has spent time living in the Virgin Islands and NYC. He spends his free time on stage as an actor or in the spin studio at Rêve. He hopes one day the Ad Club has a clubhouse complete with a secret entrance and vintage-y things.
Jill is an Account Executive at WCSH 6 and specializes in both TV and Digital advertising sales. She is originally from Connecticut but moved to Maine for college, fell in love with Portland, and then never left! When she is not working with local businesses on targeted advertising campaigns, she really enjoys running or biking to the gym and being outdoors every chance she gets.
David Sullivan is a Broderson Award-winning graphic designer. He does print and digital design for various companies and agencies in the greater Portland area.
An unabashed aficionado of saltwater, hayfields, pine trees, and piping hot apple cider doughnuts, Steve utters, “I really do love you, New England” more than he cares to admit. As a Senior Copywriter at The VIA Agency, Steve also understands the importance of succinct messaging.
Chris Grass is Rinck Advertising’s Digital Media Manager. In this role, he works with clients to strategize media tactics for all marketing campaigns. He is an expert in managing and optimizing complex marketing campaigns. Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is certified in DoubleClick Campaign Manager and DoubleClick Bid Manager and has the Google Analytics and HubSpot Inbound Marketing certifications. When he isn’t in the office he enjoys biking, running and skiing.
Heather has been working in the creative, technology, and marketing fields for over 15 years. With a mindset of always learning new things, Heather grew up programming in DOS and capturing photos on her dad’s Canon AE-1 SLR. Today, Heather works as a Project Manager, managing company-wide implementation and technology integration projects. When not at work, Heather can be found enjoying the wonders of Portland and capturing moments of life around her.
